Sandblasting and painting for Primary and secondary steel structure is according to the requirement for anticorrosion. The painting consumption is related greatly to the dry film thickness, construction method and painting system (spraying attrition rate than manual brush). The following data is theory spreading rate (for reference only), and the actual amount should be multiplied by 1.5-1.8 coefficient:
The thickness of 75 microns, about 8.5 m2/L
The thickness of 125 microns, about 6.5 m2/L;
The thickness of 200 microns, about 4 m2/L.
The general unit for painting consumption is unit of capacity.
In the paint specification, there is theory spreading rate which is the amount of painting for 1 square metre 100 um (or 50 um,you can convert by yourself ).We regard this number as X %.Then the paint dosage equal to x % * 25000 * paint thickness/100. The calculated results you got can be multiplied by loss coefficient such as 1.3 which is generally related with construction equipment.
The net weight for weld on steel structure is about 1.5 ~ 2% percent of steel members. The amount used for electrode should be according to this data. Because the data is calculated by net weight,the amount for electrode weight should be increased. Besides, added the weight of electrode head and the coated, the generally amount for electrode is 1.8 ~ 2.2 times.
Epoxy zinc rich primer
- Composition: by epoxy resin, zinc powder, solvent, and amine curing agent composed of double components primer
- Features: excellent anticorrosive performance, strong adhesion, high zinc powder content in the film with excellent water resistance.
- Usage: for heavy-duty coating primers, used in ships, ports equipment, bridges, steel structure, oil drilling platform and chemical equipment, etc.
- Technical requirements: HG/T3668-2000

- The construction reference
- The coated surfaces must be free of scale, rust, oil, etc.
- The substrate temperature must be higher than 3 ℃ above the dew point. When the temperature of the substrate is lower than 5 ℃, the paint coat does not solidify.Therefore the construction is unfavorable.
- After opening, component A must be stirred well, and then according to the ratio of requirements mix with component B during stirring process.After fully mixing, the coating should let stand, curing 30 min, and then add a moderate amount of diluent to transfer it to construction viscosity.
- Paint mixing should be used within 6h.
- Brush, air spraying, roller coating.
- Must keep stirring during coating process,in order to avoid precipitation.
- Coating intervals:
Substrate temperature℃: 5-10 15-20 to 25 to 30
The shortest interval h: 24 48 12. The longest interval no more than 7 days. - Recommend film thickness: 60-80 um.
- Transport and storage
- When transporting, products should prevent rain, sunlight insolate, collisions and shall comply with the relevant provisions of the transport sector.
- The product should be stored in the warehouse which is a cool ventilated place, prevent sun direct illuminate, isolate with fire, and away from the heat source .
- Safety protection
Construction site should have a good ventilation. Painter should wear glasses, gloves and masks etc., to avoiding skin contacting and inhalation of mist.The construction site is strictly prohibited from fireworks.
Performance: The prime is a kind of electrochemical protection coating with good performance of anti-corrosion, mechanical property, strong adhesion,electrical conductivity and negative pole protection.The primer can be used as shop primer. The welding work can be done between the film thickness 15 to 25 um and the welding performance will not be affected.This primer is also used as antirust primer.
Application: The painting is used for steel structure as anti-rust primer for oil storage tank, bridges, ships, offshore oil drilling platform,port facilities, smelting, chemical industry equipment etc and also can be used for maintenance primer for steel plate after polishing or sandblasting.

Safety and health rules:
This product contains flammable organic solvents, and has certain toxicity.Storage place should be cool, ventilated, dry , isolated from fire and heat source.Transportation should prevent rain, sunlight exposure. Coating should be strictly abided by job security procedures and operation procedures. Besides, construction site should be ventilated and measures for preventing fire, anti static and electricity should be taken.
Transportation and storage:
- The coating is inflammables,so transporting and storing shall comply with the national flammable rules.
- Should be stored in a cool, ventilated, dry indoor environment, and it is strictly prohibited to the rain
exposure and fire. - Storage life is one year.
H06 - 1 epoxy zinc-rich shop primer ( two-component)
The product description
The product is a kind of two-component epoxy polyamide adduct shop prime which has tough film, abrasion resistance, excellent rust resistance. The coating has cathodic protection for local damage area. When welding cutting loss area is small and the film thickness is within the prescribed scope,the performance for welding,oil and water resistance does not affect.
Design purposes
Used as primer for blast or sandblasting steel structure, the maintenance period can be up to 9-12 months.

Surface treatment used in the workshop assembly line, steel surface should be dealt by the methods such as blasting or sandblasting to remove scale and dust. The level requirements for blasting is Sweden Sa2.5 or manual derusting St3 level.
Supporting coating: epoxy resin coating, chlorinated rubber, epoxy asphalt coating, acrylic resin coating phenolic resin, alkyd resin coating, coating, polyurethane coating, chlorosulfonated polyethylene coatings, and high chlorinated polyethylene coatings etc.
Cautions
Because of high content of zinc powder, when allocating , the suggestion is using mechanical stirring evenly mix component A, and then adding component B to mix. Zinc rich primer is easy to form the zinc salt on the surface. Therefore before coating other painting,the zinc salt on the surface must be completely cleared. Otherwise,the adhesion between the layers will be affected.
